When measuring the success of your Tweeting it is important not to simply count the number of followers you have. You need to think about how many potential people are within your network.
For example, let’s imagine you have 200 followers. 2 of those followers retweet your link to their 200 followers. Suddenly you have reached a potential 600 people.


The art of re-tweeting is a difficult one to get just right, I often wonder whether something is worth retweeting or not? Will my followers want to see it? How many times and what ratio should I have with regards tweets and retweets?
There’s nothing worse than a twitter-stream full of other people’s retweets. I try to cherry-pick only the very best, most informative, funniest or most helpful tweets, then leave the rest. I hope others will do the same with my tweets…
